Welcome to our Marriot Tang Plaza Hotel Lunar New Year celebration! Tonight, we gather to usher in the year of dragon with joy, prosperity, and togetherness.

Now, one of the highlights of our celebration is the traditional tossing of the yusheng, also known as lo hei. This colorful and symbolic dish represents abundance, good fortune, and prosperity for the coming year. As we toss the ingredients high into the air, let's imbue our wishes and blessings for health, wealth, and happiness.

Before we begin, allow me as the emcee to explain the significance of each ingredient:

  1. Fish: Symbolizes abundance and prosperity.

  2. Pomelo or Lime: Represents luck and good fortune.

  3. Pepper: Signifies wealth and treasures.

  4. Oil: Symbolizes the flow of money and success.

  5. Carrots: Represent blessings of good luck.

  6. Radish: Signifies eternal youth and longevity.

  7. Peanut crumbs: Symbolize a household filled with gold and silver.

  8. Sesame seeds: Represent flourishing business and prosperity.

Now, as we toss each ingredient into the yusheng, Emcee will invite you to join in reciting auspicious phrases such as "huat ah" and "nian nian you yu," which mean prosperity and abundance. Let's raise our chopsticks high and toss with vigor, while wishing each other good fortune for the year ahead!

Thank you all for your participation in this wonderful lo hei ceremony! May the Year of Dragon bring us all immense joy, success, and prosperity. Let the celebrations continue!
