At 12:15 PM, the emcee warmly welcomed everyone, extending festive greetings, acknowledged the supporting organizers—Charles Monat Associates, Howden Private Wealth, and Private Client Service by Mercer—and introduced the esteemed guests, including Mr. Clement Cheung, CEO of the Insurance Authority, and other industry leaders.
The event kicked off with a vibrant lion dance performance, symbolizing good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. The emcee highlighted the significance of the dance, and the performers received a round of applause for their energetic and captivating performance.
Mr. Joe Lee, Head of Wealth Planning at Standard Chartered Private Bank, delivered the welcome remarks. His speech set the stage for the day’s discussions, emphasizing the importance of legacy planning and wealth transfer in today’s dynamic financial landscape.
The highlight of the event was the Broker CEO Forum, featuring a panel of distinguished leaders, including Mr. Clement Cheung, Mr. Berry Wong, Mr. Benjamin Cheng, and Ms. Christina Wong. Facilitated by Mr. Joe Lee, the forum explored topics such as Hong Kong’s high-net-worth insurance trends, regulatory changes, and strategies for wealth transfer and succession planning. At 1:10 PM, the focus shifted to the Insurer Panel Discussion, moderated by Ms. Penny Mak, Lead of Legacy Planning at Standard Chartered Private Bank. Esteemed panelists, including Mr. Sam Morgan, Mr. Terry Yung, Mr. Jethro Goodchild, and Ms. Shiuan Ting Van Vuuren, discussed investment and product strategies amid changing markets. They addressed key factors influencing interest rates, regulatory impacts, and innovative product designs to meet evolving client needs.
