Emcee Singapore - On 16 November 2024, the SGH Colorectal Surgery Department celebrated two significant milestones, marking 35 years of exceptional contributions to healthcare. The day began with the 2nd SingHealth Colorectal Congress, where experts gathered to explore advancements in the field of colorectal surgery. This was followed by the SGH Colorectal Surgery 35th Anniversary Dinner, an event that honored the department's legacy and ongoing commitment to excellence.

 

The congress featured a keynote address by Prof. Emile Tan, reflecting on the department’s growth in patient care, research, and innovation. Presentations from leading experts focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques and the role of precision medicine in colorectal cancer treatment. The session continued with expert presentations on minimally invasive techniques and precision medicine, with the emcee ensuring a smooth transition between each topic. A panel discussion on the importance of collaborative care wrapped up the morning, highlighting the crucial role of multidisciplinary teams.

In the evening, the anniversary dinner celebrated the department’s journey, with speeches from Guest of Honour Mr. George Yeo and Prof. Tan. A video presentation showcased the department’s milestones, followed by a dance performance from the Joyous Volunteers Group and a heartfelt song by colorectal cancer survivor Ms. Irene Peh. The night concluded with a celebratory toast, marking the department’s continued legacy of excellence and compassion. The emcee played a pivotal role in keeping the atmosphere engaging, helping the evening flow seamlessly from one meaningful moment to the next, leaving everyone with a deep sense of pride and anticipation for the department’s continued achievements.
